What to Expect During Your Visit

Initially you will have a consultation to evaluate your goals, medical history and assess your problem areas. There are several criteria you will need to meet first.

• Have no allergy to lidocaine or gram-positive bacterial proteins / bleeding disorders
• Have no severe allergic reactions
• Not be breastfeeding or pregnant
• No history of keloid scar formation or excessing scarring or pigmentation

Some information that is important to let us know:

• If you are planning to have a laser treatment / chemical peel as there is a risk of inflammation at the treatment site if these are done after an RHA treatment
• If you are immunosuppressed by medications
• On medications that can prolong bleeding (ex. Aspirin, ibuprofen, blood thinners)

Pre & Post-treatment Care

To get the most out of your treatment don't drink alcohol the day of treatment and avoid alcohol for 2 days afterwards. Make sure you are well hydrated. Avoid exercising for 2days after or until the swelling subsides. Avoid itching or picking around the injection site.

What are Possible Side Effects?

Most common reported side effects include injection site redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, discoloration, itching, pain, lumps, firmness.

One of the risks of this product is unintentional injection into a blood vessel. This is a rare occurrence but may be permanent. Facial injection complications that have been reported include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, permanent scarring. As with any injection there is an infection risk. Herpetic eruptions may also occur following a treatment.
