How does it work?
Alma TED is an ultrasound-based system that leverages acoustic sound waves to promote improved blood flow to the treatment area.
Who is a good candidate?
Individuals that are suffering from hair loss or that want to improve the overall thickness and appearance of their hair.
Are there any people who are not candidates?
If you are pregnant or nursing, have active cancer, active infection or psoriasis in the treatment area, implanted hearing device or metal in the treatment area. Patients who have never had active hair follicles/hair growth in the treatment area will not respond.
How many treatments are required?
During your consultation your provider will assess your hair to personalize a treatment plan for you. Best results are typically seen after 3 treatments, spaced 1 month apart. Although noticeable improvements may be seen after 2 weeks significant changes can take 3 - 4 months.
How long does each treatment take?
This will vary based on your personalized treatment plan recommended by your provider. Average treatment time takes 30 minutes.
Does it hurt?
The Alma TED is a pain-free treatment. You can expect to feel a warm sensation from the device and a ringing sound through the course of the treatment, but there is no pain involved. No needles, no discomfort. No trauma to the scalp.
What is the downtime?
No downtime. You will want to avoid washing your hair or activities that will cause you to sweat for 24 hours after a treatment.
